Flavio Soares Correa da Silva

Flavio S. Correa da Silva completed his BEng in Industrial Engineering at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) in 1984, his MEng in Civil Engineering/Transportation Planning at the same university in 1989, and his PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh (UK) in 1992. He has been full time lecturer at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) since 1992, and Associate Professor at the same university since 1999. He has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed, international journals and conferences, and supervised 32 MSc dissertations and 11 PhD theses. His main research areas are Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Interactive Environments. Flavio was awarded the Jabuti Award (the most important literary award in Brazil) in 2007 in the category of academic books as author of the textbook Lógica para Computação. He has been elected Senior Member of the Association of Computing Machinery (USA) since 2009, elected Senior Member of the Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour (UK) since 2009, and member of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence since 2018.
