Mamede Lima-Marques was a Full Professor at the University of Brasília (UnB), Faculty of Information Science and was Full Professor at the Federal University of Uberlandia, Faculty of Computer Science. Post-doctoral in Mathematical Logic Applied to Computing, in the Centre for Logic, Epistemology and History of Science at University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil; Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France; Master in Computer Science from Université Paul Sabatier; Master in Computer Science from Institute of Computing at Unicamp; Bachelor’s and Licentiate Degrees in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. Founder and director of the Centre for Research in Architecture  of Information at UnB. He was an advisor in the Graduate Program in Information Science (master’s and doctorate) where he was founder and chair of the field Architecture of Information. Throughout his academic and professional life, he has been involved with Artificial Intelligence, signing an expressive number of projects, mainly in the areas of: automatic reasoning, foundational and programming in classical and non-classical logics, knowledge representation, highly complex information systems, philosophy of information, architecture of information and ontologies. For five years, he taught the discipline of artificial intelligence at the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile, Toulouse, France, and at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Brive-la-Gaillarde, France. He is the author and co-author of several national and international papers. He is currently President and Co-founder of the Modal Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation.
