Artur Ziviani is a Senior Technologist at the National Laboratory of Scientific Computation (LNCC) at MCTIC, where he joined in 2004. He graduated in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic School of UFRJ in 1998. He obtained the Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at COPPE / UFRJ in 1999 and the Ph.D. in Computer Systems at the Université Paris VI, Sorbonne Universités, France, in December 2003. During the 2003-2004 academic year, he taught at the Université Paris VI. He was a research fellow at INRIA, France, for 5 months between 2008 and 2009. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the international journals IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials; Computer Networks (Elsevier) and International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications (IJEHMC). His current research interests include characterization, modeling and analysis of computational networks, as well as network science and its applications in multidisciplinary contexts. He is a member of SBC, an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC) and a senior member of ACM and IEEE.
